Mixin' Prints!

I know what you’re thinking... Mixing Prints? In your head you’re probably saying, Jasmine now you know that will never work for me. Honestly, I use to think the same thing too. Majority of the time, I believe people think it ‘s too bold and it would never work for them. I'm here to tell you that thought running through your mind is incorrect. For sure it's a bold move, but with knowledge on proportion and color, you can master mixing prints. Now that I know a little something about fashion, I am finally understanding how to mix prints for myself. When mixing, I try to find a neutral color or pattern that I know looks good on me, makes me feel confident, and reflects my personality. Blacks, dark navy’s, creams, grey’s, and funky pops of color are the best to mix with.

One tip that I find helpful, matching with color and not the print. For example, If the base color of the print is black, find a top or pant that meshes well with it. Another thing that I often do is look at Pinterest. Usually, I find some of my favorite fashion bloggers or stylist and see how they use color or texture to come up with new ways of styling. This gives me so much inspiration to try new things.

For my take on print mixin, I wanted to use this cute black and white horizontal striped F21 sweater and Target (Wild Fable)dark navy and white vertical striped stretch pants. It’s crazy how good this color combo is. I paired it with a pop of color open-toed mule. I love this fit so much. It’s comfy, cute, casual, but stylish.
