Welcome to my first post of 2020! Wow, it’s amazing and crazy how 2019 just flew by with a blink of an eye. But anywho, I just wanted to hop on and talk about foundations. Makeup and I go way way back like since 7th grade. (lol what a time) But I didn’t know the importance of a good foundation until now. I remember shopping with my sisters in Walmart trying to find the perfect foundation match. To be honest, there weren’t that many choices to choose from if you were WOC back then. It was really “ a get in where you fit in “ type of situation. Luckily, we found one that fit in with the standard of beauty. Today I’m super grateful for the growth in the makeup industry especially the variety of beauty products that are now out on the market. I’m so excited to be sharing with you my top 5 foundations. It’s a mix of drug store and affordable high-end products.

Side note, If you have a favorite foundation please share it with me I love buying and trying out new makeup! Comment below love yall!

Estée Lauder Double Wear

This is my TOP of the toppp foundation that I love to death. To be honest It’s so hard to describe how much this foundation changed the game for me. Double wear gives me life and life more abuntly. It stays in place all day even when you are sweating to death she will stick to that face. One thing I love is the shade range. To have over 20 shades in the deep catogory and over 50 over all, that amazing! ( mind you this is BF aka Before Fenty) Another cool but odd thing is that my sisters and I are all the same shades. I know what you’re thinking out of all 50 shades how are yall the same and the answer is we literally don’t even know. We all use 5N2 Amber Honey which has a neutral undertone.

Price: $43.00

Nars NATURAL RADIANT LONGWEAR FOUNDATION

Nars is another holy grail in my makeup bag. It’s a buildable foundation. So if you want a more natural look or a beat face this foundation has it for you. Even though Nars is kinda pricy, it’s really good. Also depending if you are a person who wears makeup alot or not I feel like it last a long time as well. Love this foundation! My shade in this foundation is Marquises, more of a golden undertone.

Price: $49.00

Fenty PRO FILT'R SOFT MATTE LONGWEAR FOUNDATION

First of all, I would like to give a huge thank you and hug to the one and the only RiRi for creating this foundation. I wear this foundation almost every day. I love it, I love it. This foundation changed the game in a lot of ways and i’m grateful for it! It’s super light with a nice texture that blurs and evens out my skin. With all the different shades, I must confess it was so hard at first to find the perfect shade. My current shade is 390, but I can also dapple in 400 as well.

REVLON COLORSTAY FOUNDATION

This right here is the foundation that saved my highschool life. Revlon was the foundation #1 drug store foundation that I could actually find my shade in. Back in the day (feeling kind of old) the bottle actually didn’t look like this and they also changed the color numbers and now it has a pump instead of a twist off top, ok I’m done remebering the past, but this was it for me. Its long wearing and matte with such a good finish. My shade use to be Toast 370 but since their numbers have changed I believe my shade is Macadamia 460.

Price: $9.98 ( Walmart) $14.49 (on website)

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation

Ok here is the thing about this foundation… Read the bottle! When I first found this foundation I picked up normal to oily which would have been find if I had normal to oily skin but I don’t! At first I hated this foundation, I felt like it didn’t stay on it made me look aweful until I realized I picked up the wrong bottle. If you have dry skin please pick up Normal to Dry. After I changed, I loved this foundation. It’s a easy purchase and its great for just a natural everyday slay.
